Shadows (The Rephaim Book 1) by Paula Weston
Goodreads description: "It’s almost a year since Gaby Winters was in the car crash that killed her twin brother, Jude. Her body has healed in the sunshine of Pandanus Beach, but her grief is raw and constant. It doesn’t help that every night in her dreams she kills demons and other hell-spawn.
And then Rafa comes to town. Not only does he look exactly like the guy who’s been appearing in Gaby’s dreams—he claims a history with her brother that makes no sense. Gaby is forced to accept that what she thought she knew about herself and her life is only a shadow of the truth—and that the truth is more likely to be found in the shadows of her nightmares.
Who is Rafa? Who are the Rephaim? And most importantly, who can she trust?
Fast-paced and gripping, Shadows, the first book in the Rephaim series.

-This book gets my highest honor: an above 5, meaning 5 braincells(stars) just isn't enough!
I loved this book. It had everything I want in a paranormal young adult read. I could not read it fast enough, yet did not want it to end because it was so good. It has mythology that reminds me of Jamie McGuire. The storyline is not the same as any book I have read from her, but there are some similar mythologies and Jamie McGuire has written some paranormal YA romances that I loved. If you like YA, fantasy and/or paranormal romance, then this book has something for you to enjoy. A few moments made me teary, some made me laugh; and every page kept me eagerly reading and engrossed in the storyline. Here's hoping book 2 does not disappoint!
